Customized plastic moldings

Rotomoulding

Rotomoulding, also known as rotational moulding, is a unique manufacturing process in which plastic powder is heated and rotated inside a mould to create hollow, seamless products.

From simple shapes to complex designs, rotomoulding offers unparalleled design freedom. The process consists of several steps, with every detail carried out with care and attention.

01

Mould preparation

The manufacturing process starts with preparing the mould. The mould, usually made of aluminum or steel, is custom-made to accurately reproduce the desired shape and details of the final product.

At this stage, threads and
labels can also be added, so they become an integral part of the final product.

02

Adding the plastic powder

Once the mould is ready, plastic powder is placed into the mould. Polyethylene (PE) is the most commonly used material thanks to its strength, durability, and weather resistance, but other plastics or combinations are also possible.

03

Heating and rotating

The closed mould is then heated in an oven while it slowly rotates around two axes. The plastic powder melts and evenly coats the inside of the mould, creating a hollow product.

04

Cooling

After the heating phase, the mould is cooled in a controlled manner while the rotation continues slowly. This ensures the plastic cools and solidifies evenly, which is important for the product’s structural integrity and helps prevent warping or deformation.

05

Verwijderen van het product uit de matrijs

Once the plastic has fully cured, the mould is opened and the product is carefully removed. This requires craftsmanship to ensure the product comes out intact and without damage.

06

Finishing and quality control

After the process, each product is carefully inspected to ensure it meets the required quality standards. Depending on the product specifications, post-processing may be carried out, such as adding openings, screw holes, or additional components.
